It worked for me! We have three young children and our house is always a disaster area. But I enjoyed using the tips in this blog post. I did, however, modify it some. I used three laundry baskets, as collection tools; one for items that belong in another room, the second for dirty clothes (yes dirty clothes were everywhere), and lastly a donation basket. Plus, I took along a kitchen waste basket to dispose of junk-mail and candy wrappers, mostly. One other one that has helped me a lot has been "always counter-clockwise, top to bottom" in a room. That way I'll have gone around at least once (as opposed to flitting all over the place as is my wont) and made gravity my friend- (dirt falls down, not up). I believe that there are heretics that go clockwise instead although I shudder just to think of it.
