How to Use Free Time Productively

Before embarking on any kind of self-improvement, productivity initiative, etc., plan in advance how you'll use the life energy you free up. Otherwise you'll just keep doing whatever you did that caused your inefficiency in the first place. For example, if you plan to clean your desk, decide in advance how you'll change your space usage so it doesn't fill up again. If you are trying a new technique to handle email faster, decide in advance how you'll use the time you save. What currently gets dropped because you're too busy? Do more of that in the time you save with email. Today's project: choose one of my past tips to implement to save time. But decide first what you'll do with the time you save.
