When my cell phone breaks or gets lost, it tanks my productivity. But this needn't happen to you. If your old phone still works, put it in a gallon ziploc bag along with its power cord, cables, and instruction manuals. Store the bag in a box marked "backup electronics." If the current phone is lost or stolen, run to your backup electronics box and you'll be back up and running instantly.
Only keep one backup, however! Take your previous backup phone to a recycling station (they often have them at Staples or your phone store) where you can drop everything to be recycled -- instead of cluttering your house.
